Water’s Edge, Year’s Round, 2018, bronze, 132 x 60 x 24 inches

Originally created in cedar and steam bent alder wood, the sculpture, cast in bronze, presents the human figure engaged in the Northwest landscape of water and woods. Installed on the Seattle Center campus, the work embodies the collaboration of Kirkpatrick and Mace that began when they met at Pilchuck Glass School in 1979. All their work is characterized by an initial commitment to the process of drawing and an exploration of human interaction with nature.
